Hamsa: Depicting the open right hand, an image recognised and used as a sign of protection in many times throughout history, the hamsa has been traditionally believed to provide defense against the evil eye.
Significance of Brass :
The Vedic texts have showcased the use of brass metal to attract positiveness and abundance in life. Its use in prayers can help to invoke divine consciousness because it is made of zinc and Copper. Each of these three elements is considered holy.
How to clean brass jewellery:
Aging brass loses a lot of its luster, some people actually do admire that rustic vintage look. As it ages, it loses its shine and begins forming a greenish layer. This layer is called patina and results from oxidation of the copper in the brass.
If you prefer your brass jewellery to shine, you can simply polish the brass using brasso/ brass polish to restore it to its original gleam.
Brass jewellery will not corrode or rust. It contains zinc and copper, both of which are non-corrosive metals. However, we would advise against showering or bathing with brass jewellery.
Please note that slight colour difference should be acceptable due to the light and screen.
Due to the delicate nature of handmade jewellery, care must always be taken to preserve and increase the longevity of your unique piece.
Keep jewellery away from water, moisture/ humidity, sweat and salt as these oxidise metals which can cause them to change colour over time
Keep jewellery safe in a cotton/velvet pouch or jewellery box away from direct sunlight. Also wiping with a polishing cloth will help.
Put perfumes, sprays, creams, oils on the skin and allow them to absorb before coming into contact with jewellery
Take jewellery off to exercise, shower and sleep and do any vigorous activities
